WHAT IS MUSIC DISCOVERY?
Music Discovery is the perfect class for students ages 7–11 who want to try music but aren’t sure where to start.
In this fun, hands-on group class, students explore guitar, piano, drums, and singing, all in one program. Each class is designed to keep kids engaged and excited while building real musical skills in a supportive environment.
Through guided instruction and interactive activities, students will rotate between instruments, learn simple songs, and develop a strong foundation in rhythm, coordination, and musical awareness.
WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN
• Guitar basics including simple chords and strumming
• Piano fundamentals and beginner melodies
• Drumming skills focused on rhythm and timing
• Singing confidence and basic vocal technique
• How to play and create music as a group
This class is perfect for beginners and curious kids who want to explore different instruments before choosing their favorite.
No experience needed. Just bring your energy and get ready to make music!

PRICING
Music Discovery is a 45 minute weekly class. Classes run continuously through the year. Kids may stay enrolled as until the teacher suggest they graduate to an instrument specific group class.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?

Kids who haven't had music lessons before or who are graduating Mini Musicians class.

Kids who aren't sure what instrument they're interested in.
This is an ongoing class. Students will play guitar, piano, drums and play songs as a full mini band. We teach the classics too... we're talking The Beatles, The Rolling Stones... all the good stuff! Students will learn the fundamentals of reading music including note names and rhythm.

WHAT INSTRUMENTS ARE USED IN CLASS?
During a Music Discovery kids music lesson class, students will be exposed to a variety of instruments. Students will rotate turns on piano / keyboard, guitar and drums. One of the goals of this class is to help your child find the instrument that gets them extra excited about music, so they can head into private lessons when they're ready.
During the class we will use many different percussion instruments to help learn musical notes and rhythms. Xylophones, Bells, Boomwhackers, Rhythm Sticks, Shakers and Drums are great for learning the fundamentals of music.
We will explore guitar, piano, and drums! Witness their progress with our social media posts including fun pictures and videos from class!
HOW LONG DO KIDS STAY IN THIS CLASS?
Every student learns at a different pace, so there's no set time frame for how long for how long they should stay in Music Discovery. Some students stay in Music Discovery for a year or so, until graduating into group or private lessons on a specific instrument. Some may be recommended to move right to private lessons after a few months. There's no right or wrong answer. We will guide you as to how we think your student will best flourish as a young musician.
There are many benefits of starting in Music Discovery Class. Our goal is to help students begin learning the foundations of the language of music, so that they are comfortable heading into private lessons as their next step. This will make the transition to private lessons smooth and stress free as students will already have a basic knowledge of the musical alphabet, rhythms in music, and instrument etiquette and basics.
We recommend staying in Music Discovery until we think they're ready for focused group classes or private lessons. Some students are ready for private lessons right away, but many benefit from a class like Music Discovery better at such a young age.We will always come to you and tell you when we think they're ready.
