This is an ongoing class. Students will learn the fundamentals of recording music including loops, mixing, multi-track songs and more!
MUSIC PRODUCTION & SONGWRITING CLASS. WHAT WE'LL LEARN:

How to produce and record your own music in recording software on any iPad or Laptop

How to create and use loops in writing music.

How to layer multiple instruments and tracks to create full songs.

How to create melodies, chord patterns and use song structure.

How to collaboratively write music.

How to write music using samples, loops and live instrument tracks and vocals.
Modern Music Making is a 45 minute weekly class. Sessions run continuously through the year. Students may stay enrolled as long as they'd like to continue building on their skills until moving up to a higher level class.

ABOUT MUSIC RECORDING LESSONS
Did you ever wonder how hit songs make it from the performer to the radio? Does Bruno Mars put an iPhone on a music stand next to his band while they play? Nope! Music producers help take a song idea and turn it into a listenable recording. Music production is one of the most wide-ranging music disciplines there is. Producers need to know music theory, performance techniques, songwriting techniques, and even sound engineering techniques. Similar to songwriting lessons, music production lessons typically start with basic piano and music theory instruction.

After students gain the necessary base-level songwriting and music theory knowledge, they are introduced to recording software such as Garageband and Logic. These are digital audio workstation that allows musical ideas to come to life in the digital world. Students can create drum loops, chord patterns, beats, melodies, and more. The possibilities are endless!
MUSIC PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
Our iPad and laptop based music production curriculums cover topics such as Lyric Writing, Live Loops, Sound Creation, Song Structure, mix down and basic mastering. We use top recording software (each student must bring an iPad or laptop to class).

We take you through the entire song creating process, starting with the exciting “Live Loops” clip launching environment, designed to introduce the structure of music making in a fun and informative way. You will learn how to navigate “The Grid” in order to remix your favorite songs and well as add your own musical elements in real time. This leads Perfectly into the “Tracks” musical idea creation environment. Here you will learn to create your own sounds using the built-in keyboard and instrument modules.
Finally taking everything you’ve learned so far you will record your Live Loop performance, record your own song composition and share it via email, messenger or your favorite social media sites.
